Frequently Asked Questions

Why haven't you dried my windows?

Our most often asked question! The water is highly purified, therefore is left to dry naturally. It actually continues to clean as it dries & there are no soap suds to wipe off. We do not use tap water! For obvious reasons we will squeegee inside cleans.

Why do I have spots or grey streaks on my windows after cleaning.

The first time a window is cleaned with pure water, the results are not always perfect first time no matter how thoroughly the job is done. This is because large amounts of ingrained dirt around the window frame & seals, dirt that is never removed by traditional methods are dislodged easily by pure water cleaning. Because of the amount of it, its difficult to get rid of it completely on the first clean no matter how much we rinse.

How often should I have my windows cleaned?

We recommend every four weeks. If you leave it longer than that it takes longer to clean and you could have the issue with first clean streaks if they are very dirty.

Do you do "one off" cleans?

Yes of course but they will be charged at 50% extra as they will take twice as long to clean if not done on a regular basis. Most companies charge up to double for first cleans, we do not charge extra for “first cleans” on a regular four weekly schedule.

Do you clean leaded windows?

Absolutely, pure water is ideal for leaded windows; please bear in mind that lead oxidises & forms a white powdery substance that can affect the finish in a similar way to any first-clean. Wooden frames with old, powdery paint can also have a similar effect the first time they are cleaned with pure water.

Is pure water cleaning better than traditional?

Absolutely. If the windows have been cleaned for any length of time by traditional methods, you will find a build-up of soap scum is released from the seals when its cleaned with pure water. We potentially release a years worth of soap build-up that can continue to seep onto the window after we have left, affecting the finish. Regular cleans with pure water will leave your glass, uPVC frames & Sills spotless.

Do you use chemicals?

No, we only use “pure water” to clean glass. We will use a mild non-corrosive eco-friendly uPVC cleaner to clean plastic & polycarbonate in addition to pure water if it is necessary.

Why do you use so much water?

Because of the way pure water works, even just the water sitting on the window will start dissolving and loosening the dirt making it easier to clean. The key to a perfect finish is rinsing the window off thoroughly. This will reduce the chance of any hidden dirt dripping down after we have finished cleaning and therefore leaving spotting on the window.

How do I pay?

You will find it easier and safer to use bank transfer (BACS), we will send you a text reminder to let you know your windows have been cleaned. Of course we still take good old fashioned cash if you prefer. We can also take most debit & credit cards.

When do I know when you are coming?

We will send you a text the day before in case you need to make any arrangements i.e. leaving back gate unlocked. If this is the case we will also try to give you an appoximate time. We will try to ensure that you are booked in for the same day every month.

How much do you charge?

Every job is unique, but as an example our window cleaning starts at just £6 for a small flat. A typical 2/3 bed terraced house starts at around £10. As the amount or size of windows increases the price goes up accordingly. A large 3/4 bed house with extension, conservatory or roof windows would be around £20. Our prices are very reasonable.

How do you price a job?

The old addage “time is money” applies here. Put simply the price goes up the longer the job takes. Pricing takes into account the SIZE of the job, ACCESSIBILITY & REGULARITY. For a simple window cleaning job we view your property digitally and give a fairly accurate price within minutes. For more complex jobs we will have to visit your site to price correctly.
